Why on earth would you not want to teach children magic? I've heard that explination as well and always found it to be a bunch of bull. Isn't what you just described using magic? How silly those teachers must have been.

I know that some people say, that it is because it helps to differentiate between optical illusions (magic) and the manipulation of energy (magick). I personally don't care what they call it. Words are just symbols used to represent something that needs to be communicated through written language. They can call it magic, magick, majique, the big M as long as both the writer and the reader know what it means, I don't care. You know what I do find interesting people who are afraid of using the word spell. They will only call it a working.
How about someone who teaches Wicca and says it's not ok to teach children magic but has the children do affirmations and burn candles and burn flash paper with things that they want to come to manifest? I found that very interesting. People are funny about words. They give words alot of power and everyone seems to percieve words differently.
